Our instructors and community partners are dedicated to guiding you with compassion, cultural respect, and evidence-informed practices. You will find courses for every interest, including foundational skills, personal development, cultural arts, and nature-based experiences.

The Sankofa School of Wellbeing provides a comprehensive, interdisciplinary approach to education and community health. Our offerings are structured to support learners in building sustainable habits that improve physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
Our curriculum combines culturally responsive instruction with evidence-informed practices in movement, mindfulness, and holistic health. Courses are accessible to students of all experience levels and are designed to accommodate a range of personal and professional goals.
What We Offer
As an accredited Yoga Alliance school, we offer recognized training hours and continuing education credits (CEs) to yoga instructors, educators, and other wellness professionals. In addition, select non-credit programs qualify for CEs, enabling participants to expand their credentials while applying these tools across healthcare, education, and human service fields.
Trainings & Certifications - Professional-level programs for those who want to deepen their practice and earn credentials to teach or advance in a wellness career. These programs are more intensive, often include required practice and study hours, and may provide Continuing Education Units (CEUs).

How do I sign up for a course? Courses are listed on our landing page and MindBody. Just click the “Enroll” button, follow the prompts, and you’re in! If you need help, our team is happy to walk you through it.
What’s the difference between a personal enrichment course and a training/certification? Our personal enrichment courses are designed for anyone interested in exploring wellness, movement, and mindfulness for their own growth—no experience or professional goals required. These courses (like Yoga for Beginners, Meditation for Beginners, or Sankofa Walk Club) focus on personal practice, self-discovery, and building healthy habits in a supportive community. Our trainings and certifications (like our 200-Hour and 300-Hour Yoga Teacher Trainings) are professional-level programs for those who want to deepen their practice and earn credentials to teach or advance in a wellness career. These programs are more intensive, often include required practice and study hours, and may provide Continuing Education Units (CEUs).
How much do courses cost? How much do courses cost? Our personal enrichment courses range from $99 to $249, depending on the length and format. These are great for trying something new or deepening your personal practice without a big commitment. Our professional trainings and certifications (like our Yoga Teacher Trainings) are a larger investment. Full pricing details are available in the Course Catalog or on each individual course page.
Can I pay in installments? Yes, select courses offer payment plans to make participation more accessible. You’ll see those options at checkout.
What’s your refund policy? We do not offer refunds for courses. However, if your plans change, you can transfer your payment to another course or program as long as you contact us at least 72 hours before the course begins. After that point, all payments are non-transferable and non-refundable.
Who teaches the courses? Our instructors are trusted facilitators rooted in culture, care, and community. They bring years of hands-on experience in areas such as yoga, meditation, breathwork, somatic practices, and emotional healing. Many hold advanced degrees, industry-recognized certifications, and specialized training, ensuring you receive high-quality instruction grounded in both tradition and evidence-based practice. Beyond their credentials, they are passionate educators committed to creating welcoming, transformative spaces where every student feels seen, supported, and empowered.
Where do the classes take place? Most courses are held in-person at Sankofa Yoga & Wellness in Laurel, MD, with select offerings available online or in hybrid format. Each course listing notes the format.
