Welcome to your new beginning! At Sankofa Yoga, we’re a community focused on healthier living and self-care. With three yoga studios, a wellness room, and a cozy members lounge, we offer more than just great classes. Our yoga and meditation courses are designed to keep you connected to your practice and support your wellness journey.

 

Whether you’re new to the mat or looking to deepen your practice, our beginner courses will guide you through the basics of yoga and meditation. You’ll build strength, flexibility, and mental clarity in a warm, supportive environment. It’s a new day, and we’re here to help you feel good every step of the way.

Yoga for Beginners

Level One | 5-Week Program

  • Sept. 14 - Oct. 12 | FULL

  • Oct. 16 - Nov. 23 | OPENING SOON

Saturdays: 9:00 am - 10:00 am

New to this whole yoga thing? Our 5-week Yoga for Beginners: Level One course is for anyone with limited yoga experience or none at all. Move safely at your own pace, as we will teach you the basics of yoga: postures (asana), breathing techniques (pranayama), and its ethical principles. Each session will be taught in clinic style as poses will build upon each other to teach you proper alignment within your body. Trust us …yoga is for everybody! Class is led by Drs. Lola Salaam, M.D., Tamisha J. Ponder, Ph.D. and Natalie Cone.

Can't attend all five Saturday's? No problem! Join us when you can! You will receive a worksheet of what you've missed. No individual daily passes will be sold. Enrollment closes the Wednesday before the first session, or earlier if spaces fill.​​​

Yoga for Beginners

Loved Level One and eager to explore more? Here is your next step! Our 4-week Yoga for Beginners: Level Two course builds on the basics from our Beginners Level One, introducing you to styles like hatha, vinyasa, gentle flow, yin, and restorative yoga. Each week, you'll dive into a new style, learning its key postures, breathing techniques, and principles at your own pace. Join us for a deeper, more enriching yoga experience with expert guidance. Class is led by Bella MooreWeathers and Dr. Tamisha J. Ponder.

Meditation for Beginnners

New to this whole meditation thing? This 5-week Meditation for Beginners course is for anyone with limited meditation experience or none at all. Experience meditation in a structured and supportive environment to learn and grow. Each week we will practice intention setting, breathing techniques, and discuss how to cultivate a meditative routine of peace & relaxation at your own pace. Trust us …meditation is for everybody! Class is led Gelisa Lewis and Tamisha J. Ponder, Ph.D.

SERVICE POLICY

Please note that all Introductory and Class Packages are non-refundable and have a firm expiration date. Advanced registration is required online or via the MINDBODY app. Arrive 5-10 minutes before class starts, as we do not accept late entries. Passes won’t be refunded for missed cancellations or policy violations.

Payment/Refund Policy
All sales are final, non-refundable, non-extendable, non-shareable and non-transferable. We’re a cashless facility, so pre-registration is required. Create a free online account to streamline class registration. Expired passes and unused specials cannot be refunded or credited. Drop-ins and passes must be purchased individually; each guest needs their own account. The $49 New Student Special expires one year from purchase.

Class Cancellation
All sales are final; purchases are non-transferable, non-extendable, and non-refundable. To cancel a class, please do so at least 30 minutes in advance by logging into our reservation system and selecting "Cancel" under "My Schedule." Your class or purchase will be credited to your account, but no refunds are issued. If you don’t cancel online or call a team member before class begins, you will forfeit the class or purchase.

Late Arrival Policy

Doors lock five minutes after class starts, and late entries are not accepted. All sales are final; purchases are non-transferable, non-extendable, and non-refundable. ​​​​
