"Honoring the Season That You're In"

Led by Dr. Tamisha J. Ponder

6:00 pm - 8:30 pm

"For everything there is a season ..." Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

How are you sitting in this season? We all experience transitions throughout various stages of life — big and small, planned, and unplanned. This can involve career changes, marriage and partnership, parenthood, divorce, retirement, new family dynamics, or even major milestones. It's important to know when it's time to slow down, time to go forth and when it's time to exist.

Join Sankofa's owner/founder, Dr. Ponder with the opening summit dharma talk on seasons, and a ceremonial breathwork practice to emphasize silence, celebration and empowerment. The experience will close with an opening celebration in the lounge to welcome all summit attendees!

"Embracing the In-Between: The Power of Sound Healing as a Liminal Space"

Led by Shawn J. Moore

6:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Mystery, possibility, uncertainty, and power- all words that can be used to describe change. How can we harness these qualities? This experience  will explore the idea of stillness practice as a vehicle to explore the liminal space, expanding on the buddhist concept of the bardo—the gap arising between any two states—and the potential that rests there. We naturally search for groundedness, and our practice can help us show up in moments of inner and outer change, when life pulls the ground from under our feet.

The experience will close with a sound bath practice that emphasizes deep relaxation, and silence for empowered rest and self-inquiry.

"Exploring Radical Well-Being"

9:00 am - 2:00 pm

Enjoy a day of exploration catered to your well-being, as we present a host of panelists and breakout sessions to challenge your body, celebrate your spirit, and cultivate your mind.

Attendees will join in on the panel discussion exploring the concept of radical well-being, join a yoga class or support group, and enjoy lunch on us! The experience will close with creating a group manifesto to honor the weekend's festivities.

Sankofa is a community for rest, healing and empowerment-- where transformation happens, one mat at a time. It is a place where you can return to your inner self and reclaim your inner strength. In creating such a space, community is affirmed, cultural connections are fostered, and yogis live a conscious life on & off the mat.

At Sankofa we have a saying, “life be lifin" -- it’s an assertion of life’s ever-changing moments and the daily measures taken to navigate and cope. Life transitions are significant changes or events in an individual's life that can have a profound impact on their overall well-being, identity, and future. We all experience transitions throughout various stages of life — big and small, planned, and unplanned. Transitions can involve career changes, marriage and partnership, parenthood, divorce, retirement, new family dynamics, or even major milestones. Each life transition comes with its unique set of challenges and opportunities and at times leads to stress and anxiety. Throughout the series, we will explore various types of life transitions, coping strategies, and techniques, identifying areas for personal growth, and goal setting. Life transitions are an inevitable part of our journey, and understanding how to navigate them can lead to personal development and a more fulfilling life.
