Our New Student Journey​

Our New Student Journey offers a range of options to introduce you to the core foundations of yoga in a supportive environment. Whether you choose our 2-week special or beginner’s course, you’ll learn with fellow students, connect with our community, and explore the best offerings for you.

 

Yoga for Beginners Course Overview

LEVEL ONE: Our 5-week course is ideal for beginners or those with limited experience. You’ll learn foundational postures, breathing techniques, and ethical principles at a comfortable pace, with classes building on each other to focus on alignment. LEVEL TWO: This 4-week course builds on Level One, exploring various yoga styles such as hatha, vinyasa, gentle flow, yin, and restorative. Each week covers a different style, helping you find the one that suits you best.
Missed a Saturday? No worries! Join us when you can and receive a worksheet for any missed content. Note: Individual daily passes are not available.

How the Introductory Specials Work

Our introductory special is the best deal for first-time students. Enjoy two weeks of unlimited yoga, meditation, and group therapy for $29. Pass starts with your first reservation and expires in 14 days. NOTE: You are responsible for canceling reservations if you cannot attend. Purchasing a single drop-in or other pass will disqualify you from this offer. All sales are final and non-refundable and non-transferable. Haven't used your pass yet? Don't worry. The pass is valid one year from the date of the purchase.

What Classes Should I Take?

Our classes are appropriate for students of all levels. Yogis are encouraged to try a variety to determine which ones are best. On our Class Descriptions page, you will that we've situated our classes into categories:​ Meditation/Mindfulness; Stretch-Focused; Vinyasa/Flow; Gentle/Relaxing; Workout-Focused and Group Counseling.​ Enjoy a daily dose of peace and balance and begin to make this practice part of your weekly routine.

Joining Our Weekly Classes

​At Sankofa, we offer both in-studio and online classes, as well as bi-weekly group therapy sessions.

​

In-Studio Classes

We’re excited to welcome you! Here are a few tips for your visit:

  • Pre-register online as we do not accept walk-ins.

  • Bring your own yoga mat.

  • Arrive 5-10 minutes early as late entry is not allowed.

  • Check in at our lounge upon arrival and take a moment to relax and enjoy some tea before class.

VIRTUAL Classes

To take our VIRTUAL classes, pre-register on MINDBODY at least 30-45 minutes prior to the start of class and you will receive an email from FitGrid with a Zoom link at least 15 minutes before class starts. Select the class that says "VIRTUAL" in the front of the name. If you're comfortable, turn your screen on to get the most out of your class. This way our instructors can assist you and stay connected!

Group Therapy Sessions

Signing up for group therapy sessions operates just like signing up for one of our yoga and meditation classes. Sessions are held in the evenings to easily fit your schedule and led by licensed professional therapists. Our mental health group sessions include trauma, anxiety, grief, depression, family counseling, lifestyle changes, substance abuse and LGBTQIQ support. We look forward to sharing space with you. When you arrive, please check-in inside of our lounge. Take your time to breathe, pour a cup of tea and relax before class.​ We do not accept late entry. Sessions close five minutes after group begins.

Age Requirements

Yoga classes are open to individuals aged 16 and older. Group counseling sessions are available for those 18 and older.

 

Registration Policy
Each student must create a separate account and register individually. Drop-in passes cannot be purchased for others.

There's An App for That!

After you create your account, download the MINDBODY App and add Sankofa Yoga to your favorites. The app makes it super easy to register and cancel your classes at the click of a button! NOTE: Memberships cannot be purchased on the app, you can only do that online here.​

What's Next?

​

Please note that all Introductory and Class Packages are non-refundable and have a firm expiration date. Advanced registration is required online or via the MINDBODY app. Arrive 5-10 minutes before class starts, as we do not accept late entries. Passes won’t be refunded for missed cancellations or policy violations.

​

Payment/Refund Policy
All sales are final, non-refundable, non-extendable, non-shareable and non-transferable. We’re a cashless facility, so pre-registration is required. Create a free online account to streamline class registration. Expired passes and unused specials cannot be refunded or credited. Drop-ins and passes must be purchased individually; each guest needs their own account. The $49 New Student Special expires one year from purchase.

Class Cancellation
All sales are final; purchases are non-transferable, non-extendable, and non-refundable. To cancel a class, please do so at least 30 minutes in advance by logging into our reservation system and selecting "Cancel" under "My Schedule." Your class or purchase will be credited to your account, but no refunds are issued. If you don’t cancel online or call a team member before class begins, you will forfeit the class or purchase.

Late Arrival Policy

Doors lock five minutes after class starts, and late entries are not accepted. All sales are final; purchases are non-transferable, non-extendable, and non-refundable.

Membership

​

Membership Enrollment 
To enroll in a membership, a three-month commitment is required before cancellation is possible. If you cancel your membership before completing the commitment, the remaining balance will be charged.

​

Monthly Auto-Payment & Renewal: Here's How It Works!

Your membership includes hassle-free auto-renewal. It renews every 30 days based on your initial billing date. For instance, if you join on March 15, payments will automatically be processed on the 15th of each month.

​

Membership Freezes

Active military members can freeze their memberships for up to 90 days with proper documentation and email notice. At the end of the freeze, your membership will automatically resume, and your card will be charged. To request a freeze, please email us at info@sankofayogacenter.com at least 30 days before your next billing cycle.

​

Member Cancellation

To cancel your membership, please email us at info@sankofayogacenter.com at least 30 days before your next billing date. If we receive your request within the 30-day window, one final payment will be processed during the next billing cycle.
