CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
We are a yoga studio and wellness center with many styles and specialties. Appropriate for students of all levels, yogis are encouraged to try a variety to determine which ones are best. Here we've listed the different styles of our classes to help support your goal. Try them all out with our 2-Week New Student Special, One-Month Pass or Sankofa Unlimited Membership!
Relaxing or Stretch Focused Classes
Sankofa Stretch & Flow
Appropriate for students of all levels, receive the best of both worlds in this combined vinyasa + yin class. Open with breathwork and close out the last 15-20 minutes of your practice with yin and restorative postures with added props for deep relaxation.

Yoga for Deep Release
This class is designed for anyone looking for a DEEP stretch to revitalize the body again. This stretch class will utilize props and poses to lengthen, strengthen and release tension in the body. Aiding in healing and restoring, restorative poses and breathwork are added for deep nourishment.​

Yin Yoga
This class will ease you into deep stretch and deep relaxation. This practice is designed to help you open the hips, hamstrings and connective tissue, and to increase circulation in the joints and promote stillness. Poses are held for 3-5 minutes allowing for a deep release with the assistance of bolsters, blankets and blocks.

Deep Stretch + Sound Bath Meditation
Wind down the work week with a soothing blend stretching and sound. This class is designed for those with stiff bodies and stiff muscles, weight lifters, athletes, folks recovering from injuries, folks looking for increased flexibility— pretty much anyone looking for a DEEP stretch to revitalize the body again. The combination of this deep stretch and flow will lengthen, strengthen and release the tension in the body to aid in healing and restoring. End with a serenading sound healing session. Yoga for Inner Peace + Relaxation
Need a quick reset on this hump day? This gentle yoga class is a combination of yin postures + meditation to help you relax the body, relate to your breath, and release what no longer serves you.

Slow Flow + Sound Bath Meditation
Wind down your weekend with a soothing blend of a slow vinyasa class ending with a serenading sound healing session.

Vibe + Chill
Wind down your workweek with a special Friday evening class combining vinyasa flow and deep stretches. Enjoy a soulful playlist as this class will help you release tension and send you vibing into the weekend. TGIF!

Yoga for Stress Relief + Deep Rest
This class is great for a tired body and a busy mind. Designed to calm the nervous system, relieve stress and anxiety, and quiet the mind for deep rest, this class is a soothing blend of Hatha Yoga, Restorative Yoga and Yoga Nidra meditation.

Yoga for Beginners
New to this whole yoga thing? This class is for anyone with limited yoga experience or none at all. Move at your own pace, as we will teach you the basics of yoga, postures (asana), breathing techniques (pranayama) and proper alignment within your body. Trust us …yoga is for everybody!

Yoga for EVERYbody
This course is for anyone with limited yoga experience, lots of yoga experience or none at all! Learn the basics of yoga postures (asana), breathing techniques (pranayama) and proper alignment within your body -- and as a bonus treat, receive mini Thai Yoga Massages to relieve stress and tension.

Restorative Yoga
Rest and feel supported in this beautiful stillness practice crafted to restore and nourish the body. Restorative yoga is a style of yoga that encourages physical, mental, and emotional relaxation. Appropriate for all levels, restorative yoga is practiced at a slow pace, focusing on long holds, stillness, and deep breathing. Props (blankets, bolsters, etc.) are used to aid in ultimate relaxation.

With hatha yoga's focus on alignment, accessibility and restoration, this class works to heal the heart both physically and energetically. This class uses props, (blankets, blocks, straps, bolsters); hands-on assists, and sound healing/wind chimes.
Meditation + Mindfulness Classes
Sound Meditation for Realignment
Allow yourself to reset each Hump Day with sacred sound. Each session will open with a meditation to help activate energy centers in the body and allow for a time to set intentions, followed by an short experience in which the body is literally ‘bathed in sound’, created by a variety of sound healing instruments such as the Himalayan Singing Bowls, and chimes to support you through this journey. This accessible restorative practice uses the power of sound, intention, and silence to tap into your parasympathetic nervous system and support a lush layer of rejuvenation. The sound meditation creates a safe space for clarity, realignment and self-inquiry. VIRTUAL-ONLY

Meditation for Awareness + Inner Wisdom
With so much internal and external noise, sometimes we can’t hear our own inner wisdom. This class consists of breath-work that progresses into guided mindfulness meditation to cultivate open awareness of the world around and within us, all designed to jump-start the day. Refocus and re-establish yourself to a state where you feel centered, whole and focused through this morning offering. The guided meditation is 30-minutes with an optional 15-minutes additionally for discussion. VIRTUAL-ONLY
Meditation to Nourish the Mind
The stress of our daily lives and responsibilities leaves little time for inner peace and tranquility. In this meditation offering, we will tap into natural states of peace, balance, and equanimity as we explore our attention and awareness. We will flow through fundamental mindfulness techniques, including conscious breathing and body awareness, to help manage stress and gain a deeper understanding of our own thoughts, feelings and emotions. Leave this class with practical tips to incorporate into your everyday life to nourish the mind heading into the weekend. Meditation for Self-Compassion
Gift yourself the relief of grace. Criticizing, judging, and beating ourselves up causes unnecessary stress in our lives and bodies that can lead to a host of other issues. We will begin with breathwork to get centered and calm the mind. Then, we will transition into a mindfulness meditation practice to cultivate more self-compassion, kindness, and love. Join us for this afternoon reset as we create a safe space for ourselves within ourselves. VIRTUAL-ONLY

Breathwork for Clarity
Join us for a morning breathwork practice to reset the nervous system. We will begin with gentle stretches to open the body for mindful breathing, and ease into breathwork, meditation and affirmations. Enjoy this full body, all-levels class. Mat Pilates class is a strengthening and lengthening form of exercise that focuses on your core (trunk) muscles while also training your arms and legs.
Group Counseling & Therapy
Group Counseling: Grief & Trauma
Its normal to feel overwhelmed, hopeless, scared, numb after experiencing loss or trauma. Asking for help is a sign of strength and not weakness. In this group you will have the opportunity to be surrounded by individuals experiencing similar experiences. You will be able to vent and express yourself in a safe environment without judgement. Yoga for Addiction Recovery & Healing
Y12SR is a 12-step based discussion and yoga practice open to anyone and everyone dealing with their own addiction behavior or affected by those patterns in others. Combining the two creates a model that truly addresses addiction as the physical, mental and spiritual disease that it is. This is an open + inclusive group. All A's are welcome.
