We are a yoga studio and wellness center with many styles and specialties. Appropriate for students of all levels, yogis are encouraged to try a variety to determine which ones are best. Here we've listed the different styles of our classes to help support your goal. Try them all out with our 2-Week Unlimited Special or Sankofa Unlimited Membership!
New Student Orientation (NSO)
This 30-minute session is a chance for new and prospective students to learn more about our classes and approach to yoga.
New to the studio, or yoga in general, and have questions? This is a great opportunity to chat with Sankofa Yoga owner, Tamisha, to provide insight on the best classes aligned with your goals. Meet other students as well as instructors and learn more about our community. Held on Thursdays at 12:30 pm EST, this offering is optional and FREE!
New Student Open House (OH)
New Student Open House (OH) is the best of both words. It's NSO + a free yoga class!
Flow with us in a Intro to Yoga class at 6:00 pm and chat afterwards with Sankofa Yoga owner, Tamisha, and receive insight on the best classes aligned with your specific health + wellness goals. Meet other students as well as instructors and learn more about our community. OH sessions are FREE and offered in-studio at our upstairs location on Tuesdays from 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm.

Join us for a midday breathwork practice to reset the nervous system and engage in affirming discussion surrounding Health and Wellness.

Meditation + Mindfulness Classes
Sound Meditation for Realignment
Allow yourself to reset each Hump Day with sacred sound. Each session will open with a meditation to help activate energy centers in the body and allow for a time to set intentions, followed by an short experience in which the body is literally ‘bathed in sound’, created by a variety of sound healing instruments such as the Himalayan Singing Bowls, and chimes to support you through this journey. This accessible restorative practice uses the power of sound, intention, and silence to tap into your parasympathetic nervous system and support a lush layer of rejuvenation. The sound meditation creates a safe space for clarity, realignment and self-inquiry. VIRTUAL-ONLY
Meditation for Awareness + Inner Wisdom
With so much internal and external noise, sometimes we can’t hear our own inner wisdom. This class consists of breath-work that progresses into guided mindfulness meditation to cultivate open awareness of the world around and within us, all designed to jump-start the day. Refocus and re-establish yourself to a state where you feel centered, whole and focused through this morning offering. The guided meditation is 30-minutes with an optional 15-minutes additionally for discussion. VIRTUAL-ONLY
Meditation to Nourish the Mind
The stress of our daily lives and responsibilities leaves little time for inner peace and tranquility. In this meditation offering, we will tap into natural states of peace, balance, and equanimity as we explore our attention and awareness. We will flow through fundamental mindfulness techniques, including conscious breathing and body awareness, to help manage stress and gain a deeper understanding of our own thoughts, feelings and emotions. Leave this class with practical tips to incorporate into your everyday life to nourish the mind heading into the weekend. Slow Flow + Sound Bath Meditation
Wind down your weekend with a soothing blend of a slow vinyasa class ending with a serenading sound healing session. IN-PERSON-ONLY
Yoga for Stress Relief + Deep Rest
This class is great for a tired body and a busy mind. Designed to calm the nervous system, relieve stress and anxiety, and quiet the mind for deep rest, this class is a soothing blend of Hatha Yoga, Restorative Yoga and Yoga Nidra meditation.
Yin Yoga
This class will ease you into deep stretch and deep relaxation. This practice is designed to help you open the hips, hamstrings and connective tissue, and to increase circulation in the joints and promote stillness. Poses are held for 3-5 minutes allowing for a deep release with the assistance of bolsters, blankets and blocks.
Stretch Focused Classes
Breathe, Stretch, Flow
Appropriate for students of all levels, receive the best of both worlds in this combined vinyasa + yin class. Open with breathwork and close out the last 15-20 minutes of your practice with yin and restorative postures with added props for deep relaxation.
Yoga for Deep Release
This class is designed for anyone looking for a DEEP stretch to revitalize the body again. This stretch class will utilize props and poses to lengthen, strengthen and release tension in the body. Aiding in healing and restoring, restorative poses and breathwork are added for deep nourishment.
Stretch + Flow
This class is designed for those with stiff bodies and stiff muscles, weight lifters, athletes, folks recovering from injuries, folks looking for increased flexibility— pretty much anyone looking for a DEEP stretch to revitalize the body again. The combination of this deep stretch and flow will lengthen, strengthen and release the tension in the body to aid in healing and restoring.

This class will ease you into deep stretch and deep relaxation. This class is designed to gently open the body to de-stress, relieve stiffness, and increase flexibility and range of motion. Focusing on the joints can be an effective way to energize the body and ensure a safe practice. Release tension in the neck, shoulders, knees and back & feel more ease and spaciousness in your body and mind. Appropriate for absolute beginners, right through to the advanced practitioner.
Vinyasa/ Flow Classes

Appropriate for students of all levels, Start your day with a meditative vinyasa flow geared towards opening the mind, body and soul. Enjoy the balance of breathwork, vinyasa and restorative asanas (postures) while stoking your internal fire + blazing a trail for the new.
All-Levels Flow
Appropriate for students of all levels, this flow class explores postures to build strength and flexibility with modifications to assist you in your practice. Find you edge and join our movement!

Yoga for Beginners
New to this whole yoga thing? This class is for anyone with limited yoga experience or none at all. Move at your own pace, as we will teach you the basics of yoga, postures (asana), breathing techniques (pranayama) and proper alignment within your body. Trust us …yoga is for everybody!
Yoga for EVERYbody ( + Thai Massage)
This course is for anyone with limited yoga experience, lots of yoga experience or none at all! Learn the basics of yoga postures (asana), breathing techniques (pranayama) and proper alignment within your body -- and as a bonus treat, receive mini Thai Yoga Massages to relieve stress and tension.

Yoga for Addiction Recovery & Healing
Y12SR is a 12-step based discussion and yoga practice open to anyone and everyone dealing with their own addiction behavior or affected by those patterns in others. Combining the two creates a model that truly addresses addiction as the physical, mental and spiritual disease that it is. This is an open + inclusive group. All A's are welcome.
